Kinetic Architecture: Hurricane Shutter

An animation my group created for kinetic architecture. A large hurricane shutter for a home on the island of Martinique. The shutters can be closed for whenever the residents are away or open when home. If privacy is desired, the door can be closed with the louvers opened, allowing for a breeze but maintaining security and privacy. The entire series of five 10’x8’ panels can be opened simultaneously with a hand crank and the aid of six 500 pound counterweights. More to follow in the days to come….
